Violinist Eva Dove earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees as a recipient of the Starling Foundation Scholarshio at Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music, studying with Paul Kantor. Eva has appeared as a soloist with the Hershey Symphony Orchestra and the PA Academy of Music Chamber Orchestra and has performed in masterclasses for Joseph Silverstein, Arnold Steinhardt, Aaron Rosand, David Kim, and Grigory Kalinovsky. At the age of 16 she was featured in Central PA Magazine as one of their “5 Rising Stars Under the Age of 25.”
An avid chamber musician, Eva was the recipient of the Summit Music Festival’s chamber music award and has recently collaborated with artists Lynn Harrell, Toby Appel, and Bion Tsang. She has been coached by members of the Guarneri, Miami, Cypress, Ying, St. Lawrence, and Cavani String Quartets, and in 2016 was invited to compete in the Fischoff national chamber music competition.
Eva has been a fellowship or scholarship recipient at the Aspen Music Festival, the Colorado College Music Festival, the Montecito International Music Festival, and the Orchestra Institute Napa Valley. Eva currently resides in Houston, TX, where she maintains a small studio of private students and coaches chamber music as a Brown Fellow at the Shepherd School of Music. She also serves on the faculty of the Stringwood Chamber Music Program in Minnesota during the summers.
In the fall Eva will assume the position of chamber music TA at Arizona State University, where she will begin work on her doctorate under the mentorship of Jonathan Swartz.
