Lauren Roth was appointed concertmaster of the Tucson Symphony Orchestra and an Assistant Professor of Violin at the University of Arizona in the fall of 2013. Prior to these positions, she was concertmaster of the Canton Symphony. Ms. Roth earned a Master of Music degree from the Cleveland Institute of Music as a student of William Preucil, and she was accepted into his prestigious Concertmaster Academy. She is a graduate of the University of Washington in her hometown of Seattle where she received degrees in Violin Performance and Italian Studies. She was a student of Professor Ronald Patterson. Ms. Roth spends the summer in Prague, Czech Republic and Bellingham, WA as a faculty member of the Prague Summer Nights Festival and the Marrowstone Music Festival respectively. She enjoys performing as a concertmaster, soloist and chamber musician and is thrilled to join the Caroga Lake Music Festival this year.
